Hello There,

My name is Cassidy and I am the owner of Ruff Life in Kankakee, IL. I have been working with animals for as long as I could walk, which led me to my passion-working with dogs.

After graduating college and spending five years working in Law Enforcement as a Correctional Officer I learned life is too short to not spend it doing what makes your heart happy.

I started this business to fill a need in our community and to be able to spend time with my family who means the world to me. My hope is to be able to provide yours with the saftey and comfort you all deserve.

I look forward to meeting and working with all of you (mostly your pups).

Our Story

Ruff Life was created to provide healthy snacks and top notch services to the pups of our community that their humans feel great about! I am a dog mom to pups with severe food allergies so I understand just how frustrating it can be to find treats at pet stores that suit my dogs’ particular needs. Additionally, I understand how difficult it can be to find someone trustworthy to watch our precious fur babies when we are away (easily the most stressful part of planning a vacation).
Ruff Life makes finding organic, natural, limited ingredient treats as quick as clicking a button! We also offer many services to care for your fur babies as if they were our own while you are away.

Meet the pups.

  • Rocket

    Rocket: We call him the ring leader because, even though he’s our smallest pup, he’s definitely the one in charge! He loves to boss his younger yet bigger siblings around as they all play together. However, if he could do one thing for the rest of his life he would choose to be cuddled up with his humans under a nice warm blanket.

  • Kairos

    Kairos aka “Kai”: We definitely have our hands full with this spunky pup! He’s quick to tattle on all of his siblings when they’re breaking the rules but is typically the naughtiest of the bunch. If he could do one thing for the rest of his life he would choose to play tug with his mama.

  • Scout

    Scout: We sure lucked out with our sweetest sis! She’ll put up with pretty much anything from her rowdy brothers who are always trying to get her to play. If she could do one thing for the rest of her life she would choose to snuggle between her mamas.
